AMC Stubs A-List | Thank You for Your Service

I’m an AMC A-List member, and there’s a running joke among A-List people when AMC thanks us before the movie. I’m one of the people who will jokingly stand up, wave and accept the recognition like I’ve actually done something heroic. That’s where the whole campaign started. I thought it would be funny if AMC stopped treating it like a throwaway thank-you and completely committed to the bit. If you’ve seen 47 movies this year, finished a large ICEE without a bathroom break or stayed through every post-credit scene, maybe that service deserves to be recognized. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

Slow, cinematic shot of an A-List member filling an enormous ICEE with total concentration. The cup reaches the brim without spilling. A grin of satisfaction is across their face.

Some moviegoers are born ready.

She takes a massive drink. No reaction. No brain freeze. Just smiles.

Others are forged through discipline.

Cut to another member at the butter station. He slides a straw deep into the popcorn bucket, carefully pouring butter to the bottom. Like a pipeline. Keeping the bucket at eye level to watch his work.

They master the techniques others never knew existed.

Cut to a third member seated in different auditoriums across multiple movies.

Laughing hysterically.

Match cut to: Crying.

Match cut to: Completely locked in.

Match cut to: Recoiling in terror.

Match cut to: Still seated as credits roll.

They laugh with us. Cry with us. And even scream with us. Then when everyone else leaves…

He remains seated, staring at the screen.
